Nonprofits Honored

Six nonprofit organizations were recognized Wednesday at the Community Foundation of West Texas’ annual Grantee Luncheon on Wednesday in Lubbock. The foundation recently announced distributions of more than $680,000 in grants to non-profits during the first quarter of 2017. Recognized in various fields were Wallace Theater, Levelland, Arts and Culture; Weekend Snack Sack Program, Slaton, Basic Needs and Self Sufficiency; Plainview Downtown Restoration, represented by Blair Willson (top row second from right), Civic Social and Economic Development; Caprock Cultural Association, Post, Education/Youth; South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Animals; and Catholic Charities of Lubbock Impact Award. Catholic Charities received a $1,000 grant. The rest received $500 grants.
