E. Jay Matsler Trust for Historic Preservation Grants Awarded

The Community Foundation of West Texas announced grants to three agencies totaling almost $30,000.00. These grants are gifts made possible through the E. Jay Matsler Trust for Historic Preservation. The E. Jay Matsler Trust for Historic Preservation was established with a bequest of $348,000 for supporting historic preservation projects in Lubbock and Hale counties. Post Garza Co. Endowment  Awards Grants

On August 26, 2016 during halftime at the Post High School Football game, the Post-Garza County Endowment awarded grants to nine area nonprofit organizations totaling $15,500. Since the endowment’s inception in 2010, the Post-Garza County Endowment has distributed $57,300 to nonprofit organizations in Post and Garza Co. Nearly $30,000 awarded to Mini-Grants for Teachers this year

The Community Foundation of West Texas is pleased to announce the awarding of Mini-Grants for Teachers totaling nearly $30,000.00 to South Plains Area elementary and secondary school teachers for the implementation of creative classroom projects during the 2016 – 2017 school year.  This year the Community Foundation of West Texas received 75 requests for funding through this project and funded 42 requests. These projects will provide exceptional educational opportunities for more than 4,000 students.
