2016 Hero’s Luncheon

When selecting honorees for the Hero’s Luncheon, we look to those whose initiative and accomplishments have brought significant benefits to Lubbock and the South Plains Area. We believe Mary Louise and Bill Kingsbery exemplify the spirit of the Hero’s Award.

Mary Louise and Bill truly personify the name hero because their lives have been spent improving the quality of life in Lubbock and the South Plains by serving the community and changing lives through their church and non-profit philanthropy.  Their generosity, in large measure, has been done anonymously and without recognition.  The Community Foundation of West Texas believes that Mary Louise and Bill exemplify the qualities of heroes in every way.  As the Foundation celebrates its heroes for 2016, we will create a special endowed fund in their names which will make annual grants to favorite causes of the Kingsbery’s choosing.

The spectacular Hero’s celebration will honor Mary Louise and Bill Kingsbery with a reception on August 24, 2016 and the Hero’s Luncheon on August 31, 2016.  The luncheon at the Overton Hotel and Conference Center will serve as a tribute to Mary Louise and Bill as well as a fundraising event to create an endowment fund with The Community Foundation of West Texas.
